HARMONY WEEK ACTIVITIES 2009
Harmony Day is this Saturday, 21st March and in the lead up to this we have had a series of special activities happening at school this week.

Indigenous Australians Activities Day
Here are some photos of the Aboriginal Activities Day we had on Tuesday the 17th March. The students did a range of hands-on activities as well as learning where the Noongar Aboriginal clan came from and some of their tools, implements, language, dance and values. Thanks to Thomas and Belinda from the Department of Environment and Conservation, who made it very interesting and fun for our students.
Multicultural Lunch, Pancakes and Cooking with our visiting Chinese Students
Here are photos of our students having pancakes at recess thanks to Mrs Reynolds and Mrs Lewis and their teams who cooked them and to Mrs Regan and the school councillors who helped to sell them in the senior. middle and junior areas. Rather than having their home stay parents providing food the Chinese students and Mrs Cruthers, our ESL Teacher and Jason, one of our parents cooked some Chinese food to share at the senior area luncheon. There was lots of delicious food sent in by our parents to share with students at the senior middle and junior area luncheons. These were recipes originating from many from places and cultures around the world.
Thank you to all the parents for the lovely foods they provided and to our teachers for facilitating the lunches in each area.
More luncheon photos to come...

Multicultural Costume Parade and Activities Day...
Friday 19th March.
Photos of the Classroom activities children did as they circulated through the classes in their block, Junior Middle and Senior, between the morning assembly parade and lunchtime.
At lunchtime on Friday, students were able to a range of interesting foods to taste and enjoy including Chinese Buns filled with BBQ'd Pork, spring rolls, samousas, prawn crackers, fortune cookies and freshly made sushi. One of our new parents who kindly donated the sushi also demonstrated to students how it is made. Our visiting Chinese students really enjoyed themselves and were buying and trying lots ofthe things maybe because they were missing them from home...
